Welcome to The FODMAP Factor! I’m so happy you’re here.
The FODMAP Factor was born on my first international solo trip after a week of backpacking my way through Iceland. I had been generally low FODMAP for 6 years at that time. Buying my domain name and snagging my Instagram handle in a little hostel in London, it was from then on that I began my little blogging journey.
I had been pretty vocal about my dietary restrictions to friends and family for the few years prior. So much so, that friends of friends of friends starting their own low FODMAP journeys were reaching out to me for advice and resources. Sharing everything I knew gave me so much joy! Formalizing that process with the hope of reaching more people just made too much sense to not pursue.
My IBS and SIBO diagnosis ultimately led me to the low FODMAP diet and thus, the creation of this blog. But my health journey didn’t end there. Since then, I’ve been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and have struggled with hormone imbalances and adrenal fatigue. Every recipe on my site is low FODMAP and gluten free, but you’ll find additional labels for other diets as well, such as Paleo, Whole30, Vegan and AIP. There’s a little something for everyone and loved ones! If you’d like to learn more about my health journey thus far, click through to read my story.
I’ve come a long way to make peace with my ever-changing health. It was an arduous journey to find the ability to truly love and respect my body and what it needs. My hope is that my recipes and blog posts can help anyone who’s struggling on their own journey. Or at a minimum, help put some yummy, gut-friendly food into happy bellies. 🙂
If I can make it easier for anyone to live a mindful, flavorful and adventurous low FODMAP life of travel and outdoor adventure, then I can say that my mission here is accomplished.
